Soup

April 10, 2009 |

Soup is a liquid food made by boiling or simmering meat, fish, vegetables, etc. Soup is usually served hot at the beginning of a meal. There are also some soups to serve cold for a summer treat. Soups can be enough for a complete meal, just on there own.

For more ideas for soups, why not take a look at the soup category.

Carrot and Lentil Soup

The original recipe for this soup had 2 tsp of Cumin Seeds and a pinch of Chilli Flakes in the ingredients. I leave them out for my version as I think the basic soup is quite tasty.

Carrot and Lentil Soup

Spinach Soup

Vegetable Soup with Pasta

This soup is equally delicious hot or cold. To serve chilled, refrigerate for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight, before serving.

Dumplings (to have with Soup)

Try adding a pinch each of salt, pepper and mixed herbs when mixing the dry dumpling ingredients, then cook in boiling water for 20 minutes and serve with your choice of soup to make a quick hearty meal.
